How do you know that your pet is suffering from dental problems?
Bad breath is often the first sign. This can be caused by food. If the bad breath persists despite a change of food, the cause is often inflammation of the gums. Check your dog's teeth regularly by carefully lifting the lips. Plaque and tartar are increasingly deposited on the back molars and canines. If the gum line is reddened and already bleeds when touched, the inflammation is advanced and a visit to the vet is highly recommended.
