Venison is a particularly low-fat and high-protein meat. Deer is often used for elimination diets, as it is usually very well tolerated. Venison is also rich in B vitamins, iron, zinc and selenium.
Due to the increasing number of dogs with gluten intolerance, the use of potato as a carbohydrate source is becoming more popular. Potato contains little fat and a significant amount of minerals, trace elements and vitamins. The high proportion of starch and dietary fibre make the potato nutritionally very valuable.
