Dietary complete food for adult cats to support kidney function in chronic renal failure

NIERE/RENAL has been specially developed to provide cats with a reduced protein content by using high quality protein in an easily digestible composition. High protein levels can have a damaging effect on the kidneys. The decisive factor is the protein content in relation to the amount of energy. With Kattovit NIERE/RENAL - in contrast to conventional food - only about half of the energy is provided by protein. The enrichment with potassium citrate ensures a less acidic urine (neutral) and can thus prevent the formation of oxalate crystals (oxalate prophylaxis). The contents of phosphorus and sodium are reduced.

Adult

At 9-12 months a cat - depending on the breed - is fully grown. Smaller breeds are usually mature earlier than their larger counterparts. Dietary and activity requirements change as the cat becomes an adult. The diet no longer needs to be as high in calories as it is for a kitten, and depending on whether the cat is an outdoor or indoor cat, adequate activity should be provided to keep the cat mentally and physically fit.

Veterinär-Diät & Spezialfutter

Spezifische Krankheitsbilder können es notwendig machen ein Spezialfuttermittel einzusetzen. Beispiele für solche Erkrankungen können z.B. Niereninsuffizenz, Harnsteine und wiederkehrende Harnwegsinfekte, Leberprobleme oder auch Gelenks- sowie Haut- und Fellprobleme sein. In Absprache mit dem Tierarzt sorgen Veteriärdiäten für die nötige Unterstützung der tierärztlichen Therapie.

Alleinfuttermittel

Ein Alleinfuttermittel ist laut Futtermittelverordnung dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass bei alleiniger Fütterung das Tier mit allen notwendigen Nährstoffen versorgt ist. Eine Zufütterung von anderen Produkten ist aus ernährungsphysiologischer Sicht nicht notwendig, da die Ration bedarfsdeckend ist.
