CBD oil can be a great support for your cat in stressful situations, such as thunderstorms, the vet or New Year's Eve, be. The active ingredient, which is extracted from the hemp plant, can reduce anxiety, strengthen the immune system and even have a positive effect on digestion. The use of CBD oil can also be beneficial in relieving pain caused by arthrosis or inflammation, for example. It has absolutely no intoxicating effect, as the THC content is less than 0.2%! The product is also terpene-free, as cats cannot metabolise these components.
Hanfred CBD oil is obtained from hemp plants grown in Styria/Austria. An extract is obtained from the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. Hanfred uses MCT oil as the carrier oil for this extract in its flavour oil for cats. MCT oils are a source of medium-chain fatty acids. These are easily digestible and provide quick energy.
Is hemp seed oil the same as CBD oil?
No!
The oils are obtained from different parts of the plant and have different effects. Hemp seed oil is produced by cold pressing the seeds of industrial hemp. It contains no CBD (cannabidiol), but a range of important nutrients. It is ideal as a feed additive to BARF or ready-to-eat food.
CBD oil is obtained as an extract from the CBD-containing parts (mainly the flower) and then combined with a neutral oil or hemp seed oil for use. CBD is mainly used for medicinal purposes, whereas hemp seed oil is a high-quality edible oil. Caution! Do not heat so that the nutrients are not lost!
You should always start with a low dosage and increase slowly, as every cat reacts differently to this natural product.
