Natural product from Portugal

TORGAS come from the mountains of central Portugal and are handmade there from the root tuber of a native heather species. During processing, the root is carefully trimmed and smoothed by hand to obtain a firm surface without sharp edges. Taking into account the shapes given by nature, each TORGA becomes unique.

The history of TORGAS ®

The heather root sculptures from Berno Plorin's sculpture workshop, created in the Portuguese summer studio, aroused the interest of his female dog"Bica". She secretly stole one, ran outside the house into the sun and began to gnaw on it. "The thing was quite robust, hardly a chip could be removed from it. She carried "her" root sculpture around again and again and tested it anew - a new dog toy, the "Torga chewing root" was invented!

Vegetarisch

Vegetarisch bedeutet gezielt der Verzicht auf Fleisch oder Fisch in der Ernährung. Im Gegensatz zu einer veganen Ernährungsform können dabei jedoch z.B. Eier oder Milchprodukte zum Einsatz kommen. TORGAS

Die Erfolgsgeschichte der Torgas Kauwurzeln hat ihren Anfang in Portugal. In der Bildhauerwerkstatt des Künstlers Berno Plorin, der gerade an Heidewurzel-Skulpturen gearbeitet hat, weckten diese Holzstücke das Interesse seiner Hündin Bica. Schnell wurde ihm bewusst, dass hier die Idee eines neuen Hundespielzeugs geboren wurde. Denn das Holzstück war nicht nur extrem robust und langlebig, es splitterte auch nicht.
Die Einführung in den deutschen Markt fand 2006 ein. Gerade wegen der Naturbelassenheit und Dauerhaftigkeit erfreut sich die Kauwurzel seitdem größter Beliebtheit!
