bogadent® PLAQUE-STOP is a single food in the form of a homogenised powder for maintaining normal oral hygiene in cats. Based on the seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum , our 100% natural food powder helps to reduce tartar build-up and can contribute to maintaining healthy gums and fresh breath.

Diseases of the teeth and periodontium are common reasons for a visit to the vet. Depending on the extent of the dental disease, surgical intervention may be necessary. The necessary anaesthesia is very stressful for your dog or cat and can lead to complications.

A prerequisite for the formation of tartar is plaque. This is a biofilm that consists of food residues as well as bacteria and their metabolic products and is deposited on the teeth. If plaque is not removed regularly, it hardens due to the minerals contained in saliva and becomes solid tartar. This leads to inflammation and recession of the gums, exposure of tooth necks and damage to the periodontium - periodontosis.

Further progression of inflammation and damage leads to bone loss (osteolysis), tooth loosening and eventual tooth loss. These pathological changes are extremely painful for your pet. They impair the quality of life and can lead to behavioural disorders and changes in eating behaviour.

Adult

At 9-12 months a cat - depending on the breed - is fully grown. Smaller breeds are usually mature earlier than their larger counterparts. Dietary and activity requirements change as the cat becomes an adult. The diet no longer needs to be as high in calories as it is for a kitten, and depending on whether the cat is an outdoor or indoor cat, adequate activity should be provided to keep the cat mentally and physically fit.

Zahnstein

Der gefürchtete Zahnstein entsteht durch Futterreste, die sich an den Zähnen und in den Zahnzwischenräumen festsetzen. Dadurch bildet sich Zahnbelag (Plaque), der sich durch Mineralien im Speichel mit der Zeit verhärtet und damit den unliebsamen Zahnstein bildet. Dieser wiederum löst in weiterer Folge Zahnfleischentzündungen und Zahnfleischschwund aus, was im schlimmsten Fall zum Zahnverlust führen kann.

Nahrungsergänzung
