Taurine is vital for cats. Cats arenot able (like dogs or humans) to produce taurine in their own bodies. Since the taurine content in many ready-to-eat foods is often too low to cover the corresponding requirements, it is very important to add it to the feed.
Taurine supports the metabolism, stimulates the immune system as well as kidney and liver function and plays a major role in the central nervous system. In the long term, a lack of taurine can lead to blindness, heart muscle disease or disorders of the immune and nervous systems.
